Well....it's been awhile....

Good morning internet!!

Man, has it been awhile!!  So, I guess I should update all on everything that I haven't done!!

So, first of all, let's talk SHOPPING!!  I never finished the 30 Day Closet Challenge. I think got to like Day 10 and quit!  Or at least posting about the clothes.  I don't think I bought any new clothes, but I could be wrong!  I might have to try it again!  I do need some new work clothes, so it might not happen until next month!  ;)

Second, how about those fitness and health goals!!  Yeah, about that....  I did the Hot Chocolate 5k here is Chicago, so that's one thing!  But then, I didn't really continue with the whole running thing after that.  I seemed to take a break that week and unfortunately, never got back.  But, it's a new year, new month, new day, right??

So, I guess I didn't really finish out 2014 with my goals, but here's to another year!

But here's onto the good stuff we did at the end of 2014!

1:  I did the Hot Chocolate Run in November!  It was so much fun!  I plan on doing many more!

2:  We had Thanksgiving at our house this year.  We even had a visitor!  One of the girls that I work with came over.  We had a wonderful dinner and even shopped a little that night!

3:  Christmas was a world wind this year.  It consisted of 7 days of vacation before the holiday for the hubby.  And only 1 vacation day before the holiday for me.  But it started with a quick trip down to Columbus, Ohio to visit my parents and then rushing back to Chicago on the 25th.  We then left for the rest of the year to Florida to spend it with friends of ours.  It was wonderful to get out of the city for awhile, but also nice to get home after the holidays.  We were able to spend New Years Eve out on the town with our friends.  I guess we're getting old because we didn't stay out till 12am!  We left at 10:30pm!  Then it was back to reality after a vacation because we both started back to work Jan 5th.

4:  December did bring the birthday!!  My parents came up and spent the weekend with us!  We had a blast running around the city!!

So, we start a new year and a new us!  Let's start with the goals!   I guess I should have done this at the beginning of the year, but it's better late than never, right??

Fitness & Health Goals
1:  This time, we're going to start small and see where it goes.  So, one day a week to the gym and one day yoga.  Ps, I have started logging when I workout!  :)
2:  Less sugar, less fat
3:  Cooking more and more healthy
4:  Less pizza!!
5:  Going out to dinner less, or at least less take out!

30 Day Closet Challenge....Day 4,5,6,7

Hey all!

I guess this week has been a little crazy!  But here is the past few days of the challenge.  And if you're wondering why I am doing this, it's because of a few reasons.  Number 1, I need to save some money.  We are going on a couple of trips soon and Christmas is coming too!  And number 2, is that I really need to see what I have my closet and see what I really really do need.  Going with that one, I have noticed that I just need some basic tees.  I can never seem to find some basic white and black tees when I need them from my closet!  We'll see what else I need in the next few weeks!

Day 4:  Paisley tunic by Van Heusen, and navy skirt by Target.

Day 5, Black sweater by Old Navy, white tee by Target and black and white skirt by New York & Company.  I don't remember where I got the scarf.

Day 6, Casual day at work, if I work a work tee.  Add a boyfriend purple sweater and add some Old Navy bootcut jeans, and I'm set for casual day!

Day 7 means lazy day of TV and running to the store.  Schlafly brewery tee and black comfy pants from Marshalls.

And of course, do you think I would remember about yesterday and today??  Nope!  Next post later tonight with yesterday lazy Sunday and work Monday.

Till then....

30 Day Closet Challenge...Day 2 & 3

Good morning all!!

So here it is, Days 2 and 3.  I know I am on Day 5 and haven't gotten a pic of what I wore the past few days up yet.

Day 2!  Black skirt from Old Navy and blouse from Target!

Day 3!  Grey pants from New York & Company, cardigan from Old Navy and tank top from Gap.
As this month progresses, you will notice I have a few favorite stores.  And they are places where I can usually find a good deal.  Sometimes I like to even shop at Walmart and Target.  Sometimes they are the best for just the basics and sometimes even the statement pieces.  And then I don't mind going to the other stores for the more statement pieces.  Though, I do like those outlet malls... ;)

Till later today for Day 4 and Day 5!

30 Day Closet Challenge.....Day 1

So, here it goes...

I'm doing the 30 Day Closet Challenge and if you don't know what it is, it is a month long challenge where you do not buy any new clothes! I've tried it before and had fun.  So, now we're doing it on here!

I started it yesterday and here is yesterday's outfit!  Don't laugh at me because it's comfy stuff!  I didn't do much yesterday and didn't dress up!
T-shirt and comfy yoga pants for the lazy Sunday!

Well, onto bigger and better things for the rest of the afternoon!  Have a good one!

Thursday, October 2, 2014

As I said in my previous post, I just joined a gym and training for a 5k, later this fall!  And I had a friend start to ask me about my health and fitness goals.  And I also read in a running book that it is important to also set rewards for yourself.  I also understand that you have to be realistic about your goals and rewards.  Slowly but surely, we can change our unhealthy habits into healthy habits that can enhance our lives!

That being said, here are my fitness and health goals and rewards.....
